Philly is on fire! The Sixers are coming off of an 8-game win streak and have surpassed the Boston Celtics as the 2nd seed in the Eastern Conference. To makes things even sweeter, center Joel Embiid set a new franchise record Saturday night and he’s nowhere near done.

Embiid now owns the record for most consecutive games with at least 30 points (9) in a Sixers’ uniform passing both Wilt Chamberlain and Allen Iverson and tying Dallas Mavericks’ Luka Doncic on the season. He has now scored at least 30 points in 155 career games, second all-time in franchise history. Iverson holds the franchise record with 303 30+ point games.

According to statmuse.com, Joel Embiid has averaged 36.3 points, 8.9 rebounds and 5.0 assists over the last 8 games. He shot 63% from the field and 48% from beyond the arc. Truly amazing stats; stats that have pinned the big man as the league MVP favorite over Denver’s Nikola Jokic.

Philly now looks to win its 9th straight game tonight against the Chicago Bulls. A game where the Sixers can move one step closer to 1st place in the East. A game where Embiid can add another 30-pointer to his repertoire, solidifying his legacy as record breaker!
