2024 Philadelphia Eagles Comp Pick & Draft Pick Tracker
The Eagles are going to lose a lot of free agents this year and will be getting comp picks in 2024. We’ll keep track of all the free agent in and out with a running list of potential picks in 2024.
With free agency kicking off on Monday, we’re entering comp pick watch time for the Eagles since we’ve known for a while they will have a hard time retaining many of their free agnets this year. On day one of the legal tampering period, the Eagles are already stockpiling picks for 2024.
2023 Philadelphia Eagles Players Lost Via Free Agency
Players lost via free agency count towards the comp pick calculations with the size of the contract and the number of snaps that the player played for their previous team, impacting the round in which the pick is awarded. IE, a player who played a lot of snaps and signs a big-time deal gets a better pick for the Eagles than, say, a reserve who signs a small deal. A team can only get a max of four comp picks from lost-free agents in any one year.
Player Lost
Team / Contract
Potential Comp Pick
Javon Hargrave
San Francisco / 4-years, $21m/year
3rd
Andre Dilliard
Tennessee / 3-years, $9.7m/year
5th
Isaac Seumalo
Pittsburgh / 3-years, $8m/year
5th
CJ Gardner Johnson
Detroit / 1-year, $6.5m/year
6th
TJ Edwards
Chicago / 3-years, $6.5m/year
6th
Miles Sanders
Carolina / 4-years, $6.25/year
6th
Marcus Epps
Las Vegas / 2-year, $6m/year
6th
Kyzir White
Arizona / 2-years, $5.5m/year
6th
Gardner Minshew
Indianapolis / 1-year, $3.5m/year
7th
The top four picks in the table above represent the comp picks the Eagles are likely to get in 2024 since the max a team can receive is four.
The Eagles originally gave Hargrave a 3-year, $39m deal in 2020. He cashed in for more than twice that (in total value) and the Eagles will get a 3rd round pick. That’s smart use of free agency. Edwards was an undrafted free agent. Epps was claimed off of waivers in 2019. Losing both stinks because the Eagles developed them, but at the same time, they’ll get comp picks for players they acquired for free.
UPDATE: The CJGJ contract is actually worse than originally reported and is only worth $6.5m in guarantees which bumps down the comp pick for that to a 6th rounder. Wonder if his agency will tweet again, justifying the bad deal they brokered for their client.

2023 Philadelphia Eagles Players Lost Via Free Agency
Only players signed from other teams that reached the end of their contracts count towards the comp pick calculations. Players who are cut from other teams or the Eagles own free agents who resign do not count. IE Brandon Graham resigning does not count towards the comp pick calculus. Players in cancel out players out in the calculations as well.
Player Signed
Contract
Potential Comp Pick
Rashaad Penny
1-year, $1.35
None – contract not valuable enough to count toward the formula
Marcus Mariotta
1 year, $5m
None – Mariotta was released by Atlanta so the signing doesn’t count toward comp pick calculations
Greedy Williams
1 year, $2m*
None – Williams’ official details aren’t known yet, but reports are the deal is for $2m which is too low to count
Projected 2024 Philadelphia Eagles Draft Picks
The Eagles will have a TON of draft capital in 2024. As of March 13 before free agency opened, the Eagles had 8 picks already. They can add, at most, an additional four comp picks based on the comp pick rules. This chart will get updated as the Eagles make acquisitions of their own since some of the picks will get canceled out along the way and the Eagles are likely to get better comp picks when someone like James Bradberry signs, if its not with the Birds.
